The brand went regional instead of national. The money math only works if velocity proves out fast.

You're standing in the supplement aisle deciding whether to give another holistic brand shelf space when the lines you already stock move inconsistently, and your Zeigler's rep just walked in with LIX Pet Wellness.

The deal that puts density over reach

LIX Pet Wellness signed Zeigler's Distributor as its Northeast and Mid-Atlantic partner, putting the brand's cannabinoid and mushroom supplement lines in front of independents across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Connecticut, Virginia, Eastern West Virginia, and New York. Not a national rollout, a regional one, deliberately.

The company makes allergen-free, THC-free cannabinoid products designed to support movement, stress response, and appetite, plus RESTORE mushroom supplements for immune, cognitive, and cardiovascular health made with 100% fruiting bodies. Both lines are formulated without what LIX calls "the hempy taste or smell," and the company says clear product education helps retailers recommend with confidence.

Zeigler's regional network now carries LIX's full portfolio. The company said the partnership comes as it sees rapid growth and increasing demand from retailers and pet parents, and that Zeigler's distribution will help meet that demand by expanding regional availability.

The money math on going regional instead of national

Most emerging wellness brands chase broad distribution early. LIX did the opposite: one distributor, one region, dense enough coverage that the brand can actually support the accounts that stock the line.

For the brand, regional launch means the ability to run in-store education without the logistics a national footprint demands. For Zeigler's, adding a holistic line signals the distributor sees the category as worth carrying. For the store owner, another wellness brand creates a decision: LIX either pulls a customer the supplement lines you already stock don't reach, or it's SKU bloat that sits.

The brand's co-founders framed the Zeigler's deal around trust and education. "Independent pet retailers do much more than sell products. They help pet parents make informed decisions, and they need distribution partners that can keep trusted products accessible," said Erin Hills, Co-Founder of LIX Pet Wellness. "Zeigler's longstanding relationships, dependable service, and commitment to independent businesses make them an ideal partner as we expand our reach throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic."

Kirstan Sanders, Co-Founder, added: "Pets' needs change over time, and pet parents look to independent retailers for trustworthy guidance at every stage. Partnering with Zeigler's allows us to bring our expertise, education, and thoughtfully formulated products to more stores, pet parents, and pets as demand for LIX continues to grow nationwide."

Brian Zeigler, Vice President of Sales at Zeigler's Distributor, said the brand's "expertise in cannabinoid and holistic pet wellness, impressive product lines, and investment in retailer education made the brand a natural addition to our portfolio."

Our read: the regional play works if velocity proves out fast

LIX's strategy only works if the brand can show Zeigler's, and the stores Zeigler's serves, that the line moves. Regional distribution buys the brand focus, but it also means a tighter window to prove the product justifies the shelf space.

For buyers, the test is whether LIX's education investment translates to actual pull-through. A brand that promises "clear, approachable product education" is betting it can teach the retailer to teach the customer. If the brand delivers on that, it earns the slot. If it doesn't, the space goes to something else.

The broader signal: if LIX turns velocity in this region, the regional distribution model for wellness looks smarter. If it stalls, the category stays concentrated in the brands that already own it.

What changes on the shelf Monday

If you're in Zeigler's territory and you stock wellness, your rep will pitch LIX. The question to ask: does this brand bring a customer I'm not reaching with the cannabinoid or mushroom lines I already carry, or is it the same buyer choosing between more options?

Give it a trial on a section of the wellness aisle, not a full reset, just enough space to see if it pulls. Track sell-through. If LIX moves, expand it. If it sits, pull it.
