PetBridge Launches in Mumbai to Solve the Distribution Problem Every Brand Entering India Hits First
The structure, hosted buyer matchmaking, pre-arranged distributor meetings, retail field tours, is built around the problem every international brand entering India hits first.
A new trade show is launching in Mumbai in November 2026, and the format tells you more about India's pet retail infrastructure than the market-size projections do.
PetBridge powered by Zoomark runs November 25-26, 2026 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre. It's a dedicated B2B exhibition for the pet care industry, and the structure, hosted buyer matchmaking, pre-arranged distributor meetings, retail field tours, is built around the problem every international brand entering India hits first: you can find the market-size deck, but you can't find the buyer who actually controls shelf space in Chennai.
The market number everyone's pitching off
According to Cognitive Market Research, India's pet care market is valued at $2.40 billion in 2026 and projected to reach $8.38 billion by 2034, growing at a 15.63% CAGR. Growth is being led by premiumization, increased spending on pet wellness, and the expansion of organized retail and veterinary services.
That's the slide in every brand deck. What the slide doesn't show: the retail networks, distributor relationships, and buyer contacts you need to turn that projection into an actual purchase order.
The infrastructure PetBridge is betting doesn't exist yet
The show is expecting more than 300 exhibitors and over 7,000 trade visitors. The format includes a Hosted Buyer Programme with pre-arranged meetings between exhibitors and qualified buyers, importers, and distributors. There's also a Retail Field Tour, visits to leading pet specialty stores to see merchandising, consumer preferences, and the country's retail environment firsthand.
"Trade exhibitions are about more than showcasing products; they are about creating connections that support long-term business development," says Vicky Menezes, Show Director at PetBridge. "Our objective with PetBridge is to bring together the international pet industry and India's growing ecosystem in a professional environment built around dialogue, market insight and collaboration."
The show will feature manufacturers, distributors, retailers, veterinary professionals, ingredient suppliers, packaging companies, and service providers from India and overseas.
A hosted buyer program and retail field tours are the format you build when the market exists but the Rolodex doesn't.
Our read: the show format is the tell
PetBridge isn't SuperZoo. SuperZoo assumes you already know who the buyers are, which distributors cover which regions, and which retail banners matter. You show up to pitch product, not to figure out who to pitch it to.
PetBridge's structure, curated matchmaking, pre-arranged meetings, guided retail tours, is what you build when the growth is real but the business infrastructure is still forming. The fact that international companies need a hosted program to meet qualified Indian buyers tells you the distribution networks are thin, the buyer relationships are new, and the retail footprint outside major cities is still being built.
That doesn't make India a bad market. It makes it a 2027-2029 play, not a 2026 revenue line. The brands and distributors who enter now are buying time and relationships, not immediate volume.
For most US independent retailers: nothing this year. India's pet retail growth doesn't touch your shelf, your suppliers, or your buying decisions in 2026.
For US brands considering export or fielding inquiries from Indian distributors: PetBridge gives you a concrete way to meet the buyers and distributors who would actually move your product, rather than negotiating terms with someone who claims to cover "all of India" but controls three stores in Mumbai. The show is a vetting mechanism as much as a sales floor.
For US distributors already working in Asia: if a distributor you rely on announces India entry or sends a team to PetBridge, that's a capital allocation signal. They're building for 2028, not optimizing 2026, and you should ask what that means for their focus on your home market.
Where this lands
Exhibitor bookings and visitor registrations are open now. The show runs November 25-26, 2026 in Mumbai.
The market-size projections say India is the next strategic opportunity. PetBridge's format says the infrastructure to capture that opportunity is still being built, one buyer meeting at a time. The brands that show up in November are the ones betting they can build the distribution network before the market fully forms, and that being early is worth more than being right about the timing.
